I recently was talking at a law firm and was asked a question about what should they be most concerned with in the cybersecurity arena, the cybersecurity world, you know, it depends on the type of law you're doing, but frankly, anyone who's dealing with confidential, personal information, which almost all law firms are to some degree or another, you're going to have things like wire fraud that stand out.
You know, if there's a settlement and your attorney's holding information in a trust, waiting for the settlement to finish and payment to make the simplest target. For a bad guy would be to go after that to try to insert themselves, let's say into the wire transfer chain and change the wire transfer instructions.
So the very first thing I would look at would be is wire fraud.
